We will have two sections of our April Half Day event. First, Ingrid and Corinne (long-term EA Providers) will provide a basic understanding of the nervous system and EMDR therapy, and how EMDR can be effective within a brief model.  Whether you are trained as an EMDR therapist or not, we will provide you with tools so you can feel more empowered to help your clients within a few sessions. Then, Anna will outline how trauma impacts the whole family/work systems and is often the root cause of other presenting symptoms such as addiction, mental health, and other poor coping behaviors. She will explore and explain therapeutic modalities outside of EMDR and Brainspotting for trauma treatment such as Somatic Experience (SE), Internal Family System (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Post Induction Therapy (PIT) and the value for clients and clinicians to understand these options. Emphasis regarding ancillary services will be addressed as additional support in client’s increasing their window of tolerance to do the deeper work in the healing process.  Anna will review the role that 12 steps can play in healing and offer continued support, with a special emphasis on Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families (ACA).
