While there are growing opportunities to address substance use concerns in Colorado, it is still an up-hill battle. Keeping our aim on the Recovery target is key to navigating the changes in payors, players, state systems, and business needs. Jennifer will discuss the State of the State of prescription drug misuse in Colorado along with funding opportunities for prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery support through a Recovery-Oriented System of Care lens.

For the past 15 years, Jennifer Place has fueled a passion for impacting mental health and substance use disorders, across the entire continuum of prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery. She is a professional speaker, strategic thinker and developer, always considering the systemic and individual needs of those suffering with these issues. Currently, Jennifer is a Senior Program Manager for the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention. This allows her to provide a backbone of support, resources, and connections to stakeholders across the state. As a seasoned public speaker and adjunct faculty at the University of Colorado at Denver, Jennifer provides training to audiences and students related to: prevention, substance use disorders, multicultural counseling, leadership, building resilience, managing stress, nutrition, effective communication, building healthy boundaries, DISC, Team Awareness, and others.
