EAP Services

What is an employee assistance program (EAP)?

 An employee assistance program (EAP) is a work site based program designed to assist work organizations in addressing productivity issues and employees in identifying and resolving a wide variety of personal concerns, such as health, couples, family, financial, alcohol, drug, legal, emotional, stress, or other personal issues that may affect job performance.

 Why should an organization have an EAP?

 In the last decade there has been an enormous increase in the pace of change.  Organizations continue to face unprecedented pressures and demands from increasing competition, heavier work loads and longer hours.  It is inevitable that these pressures cause problems for the organization and for individual employees.

 EAPs help individuals, managers and organizations:

  • Cope with work related and personal problems that impact work performance;
  • Improve productivity and efficiency;
  • Decrease work-related accidents;
  • Decrease absenteeism and staff turnover;
  • Promote work place cooperation;
  • Assist with addiction problems;
  • Provide a management tool for performance analysis and improvement;
  • Demonstrate a caring attitude to employees;
  • Assist managers in identifying and resolving staff problems.

EAPs are a proven, cost-effective solution to many of the people problems that employers face today.
